The Dover Police Department has made an arrest in the murder of 35-year-old Tyrone Sampson that occurred on March 30th, 2019 on Weston Drive, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.
Hoffman said Jermaine Brown, 36, was arrested by the US Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force on June 18th at an apartment in the Persimmon Tree apartment complex in the 500 block of Persimmon Tree Lane. Brown was arrested without incident. Another resident in the apartment, Samantha Randall, was also arrested for hindering prosecution at the time.
Brown was committed to SCI on $330,500 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Murder 1st Degree
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (2x)
-Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (2x)
-Criminal Mischief

Samantha Randall, 26, was released on an O.R. bond on a single charge of Hindering Prosecution.
At approximately 3:50 AM, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the Unit Block of Weston Drive. Upon arrival, officers located Tyrone Sampson, 35, with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The officers performed first aid until medics arrived and transported the Sampson to a nearby hospital, where he remained in critical condition.
Sampson later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on Monday, April 1st, 2019.
