Head Start Aid Charged With Sexually Abusing Children Five And Under

 

Harrington- On June 21, 2019, the Harrington Police Department arrested Timothy K. McCrary 27, of Thistlewood Road in Houston after police investigate a sexual abuse complaint, authorities said on Monday.

Officials said in May of this year the Harrington Police Department was contacted by Division of Family Services in reference to a possible sexual abuse complaint that allegedly occurred at the Telemon Head Start located in the 100 Block of East Street in Harrington. Harrington Police Detectives then opened an investigation with the assisted by the Child Advocacy Center and the Department of Justice.

During the course of the investigation police determined that on separate occasions during the month of May, two juveniles ages 4 and 5 were sexually assaulted by McCrary who is employed by Telemon Head Start as an Aid, officials said.

On June 21, 2019,  McCrary was taken into custody at his residence by the Harrington Police Department and the Delaware State Police. He was then transported to the Harrington Police Department for processing.

He was charged with three counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child by a Person of Trust 1st Degree and one count of Unlawful Sexual Contact where the victim is less than 13 years old. He was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $235,000 cash only bond.
