Dover – Just before 4:30 this morning rescue crews from the Magnolia Fire Company along with Kent County Medics and Trooper 2 responded to Route 1 (Bay Road) just south of Dover Air Force Base for a rollover crash with injuries.
Upon their arrival, responding crews reported that one vehicle was rolled over and one subject was trapped.
As crews worked to extricate the man from his vehicle DelDOT crews closed the southbound Route 1 at Exit 91, diverting all traffic of the highway.
Trooper 2, alerted to the accident, responded to the scene and sat down in the southbound lanes of Route 1, just south of the accident scene.
About an hour after the crash was first reported crews were able to free the man from his vehicle, He was later transported to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital via Trooper 2.
All lanes of Route 1 have been reopened.
