Pedestrian Struck On Philadelphia Pike Tuesday Night

Just before 11:00 Tuesday evening New Castle County Paramedics and Claymont Fire Company were dispatched for reports of a pedestrian struck in the area of Philadelphia Pike and Commonwealth Avenue, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal Ruoy Koontz.

Koontz said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found one patient, a 56-year-old-male, needing advanced life support care for a possible head injury. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Claymont Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. He was listed in serious, but stable condition at the time of transport.

Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.
