Rehoboth Beach- The Delaware State Police have arrested a fugitive from Pennsylvania, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.
Jaffe said on June 28, 2019, the First State Fugitive Task Force (FSFTF ) with the assistance of members from Troop 7 conducted an investigation into 43-year-old John P. Wolfe, of Franklintown, PA., who was a known fugitive.
Wolfe was wanted for Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Assault and related charges out of the Middlesex Police Department, Carlisle PA. Information was provided that Wolfe was a known camper and was possibly staying in a campground in the Lewes/Rehoboth Beach area of Delaware. Further information was provided that he was operating a red Ford Ranger with Pennsylvania Registration ZJA9094.
The vehicle was located at a campsite in the Big Oaks Trailer and Camping Park in Rehoboth Beach. Surveillance was conducted on the campsite and Wolfe was observed walking behind the tent near the fence line. Members of the FSFTF and Troop 7 apprehended Wolfe and took him into custody without incident.
Jaffe said a search of Wolfe’s vehicle and tent were conducted and the following items were located:
Approximately 8.9 grams of Methamphetamine
Approximately 73.5 grams of Marijuana Seeds
A twelve gauge pump action shotgun
A Crossbow
Drug Paraphernalia
Over $2,500 in suspected drug proceeds
Wolfe was transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:
Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
Prohibited Defendant of Alleged Felony
Possession with Intent to Deliver a Control Substance
Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity
Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)
Manufacture and Sale of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts)
He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute on $183,200.00 cash only bond.
