Police: Domestic Dispute In Lewes Lands DC Couple In Jail, $19K In Drugs Seized

On May 30, 2019, at approximately 7:30 am, officers with the Lewes Police Department and  Delaware State Police Troopers responded to the area of Sussex Drive and Savannah Road.

Dispatchers told officers that a 911 caller was stating that female inside of a gray BMW was yelling for help and appeared to be involved in a domestic dispute with the male driver.

When officers arrived in the area, they located the vehicle in the Highland Acres neighborhood and stopped. The driver, identified as Massimo Fabbri, of Washington D.C., had scratches and bruising consistent with an altercation, according to Lewes Police Chief Thomas Spell.

Troopers found the woman, Christina Lombardi, also of D.C., walking on foot in the 900 block of Mauri Drive where she was detained. Lombardi also had visible injuries consistent with the reported domestic fight, said Spell.

While investigating the incident further, officers searched both subjects and located a large quantity of cocaine, later determined to be 191 grams with a street value of $19,100 and $3,201 in cash, according to Spell.

Lewes Police K9 Blue indicated on the cash as having the presence of narcotics. In addition to the cash, a 2013 BMW X5 was seized as evidence as it was used in the commission of the drug crime.

Christina Lombardi was subsequently arrested and charged with:
1. Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity
2. Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance with an Aggravating Factor (School Zone)
3. Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and
4. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Lombardi was committed to SCI in default of $27,100 cash bail.

Massimo Fabbri was subsequently arrested and charged with:
1. Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity
2. Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance with an Aggravating Factor (School Zone)
3. Conspiracy 2nd Degree
4. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and
5. Offensive Touching
Fabbri was committed to SCI in default of $32,100 cash bail.
