Shots Fired, Man Finds Bullet On His Bedroom Floor

The Delaware State Police are investigating a single gunshot into a residence that occurred Friday night north of Felton, according to Director of Public Information, Sergeant Richard Bratz.

Bratz said the initial investigation has determined that on Friday, June 21, 2019, at approximately 8:15 p.m. troopers responded to the unit block of Appalachian Drive in Felton for a report of a single gunshot.

The resident reported he was sitting in his living room when he heard a loud noise towards his bedroom.  He walked in and turned on the bedroom light to observe drywall pieces on his bed and rug.  He looked up to observe a hole in the wall, appearing to be from a projectile.  He then looked down towards the entrance of his room and observed a bullet on the carpet.

The neighborhood was canvassed and neighbors report a single gunshot sound was heard from the north side of the residence. At this time there have been no reported injuries that can be associated with the incident.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Cpl. C. Bowie at Troop 3 by calling 302-697-4454. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware crime stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
