Dover Robbery Suspect Charged And Released, Four Others Sought

The Dover Police Department arrested one suspect and is seeking the identity of others involved in a Sunday evening robbery, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 7:53 PM, a 55-year-old male was in the area of Collins Drive and New Castle Avenue when he was approached by Dajuan Merrell, 18, and four other male suspects.

The suspects assaulted the victim and took a Schwinn bicycle from the victim before fleeing the area, according to Hoffman. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result. Merrell was identified as a suspect shortly after the incident and detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest.

At approximately 11:30 PM on July 28th, Merrell turned himself in to the Dover Police Department and was released on an O.R. Bond on the following charges:
-Robbery 2nd Degree
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Assault 3rd Degree
