Happening Now: Erratic Driver Strikes Trooper’s Vehicle On Concord Pike

Wilmington – Just before 11:00 this morning Delaware State Police were alerted by callers that a vehicle had struck a sign on Route 202 and was driving erratically. The vehicle was reportedly losing parts as it continued to drive north.

As Troopers responded they learned that the driver was stopped at a green light at Route 202 and Naamans Road.

The first Trooper to arrive blocked the vehicle from moving forward. As the Trooper made contact with the driver the vehicle accelerated into the Trooper’s vehicle at slow speed.  The Trooper reported that his vehicle had been struck and subsequently arrested the driver.

No injuries have been reported.

The roadway has since been reopened.
