Happening Now: I-95 Shut Down In Claymont, Helo In Route

Claymont – Rescue crews from the Claymont Fire Company along with crews from the Brandywine Hundred Fire Company and New Castle County Paramedics have responded to a motor vehicle crash at on I-95 near Harvey Road.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that one vehicle has rolled over and landed in the median. A second vehicle is also involved.

Arriving crews have ordered I-95 closed.

Trooper 4 has been alerted that they will be utilized and have been ordered to land in the northbound lanes near the accident.

Update: Troopers are reporting that one of the vehicles is unoccupied. Trooper 4 is overhead using their FLIR System to try and locate the driver of that vehicle.

Update: Crews are reporting that the rolled vehicle driver crashed into a parked vehicle at high velocity. The patient is being loaded into the helicopter.

Update Crews are reporting a patient found in the area. Not clear if this is connected.
