Harmony Road Bridge Work Started Today

After being pushed back twice in recent weeks the Harmony Road bridge rehabilitation work has begun.

TRAFFIC ALERT – NEW UPDATE Closure of Harmony Road for Bridge Rehabilitation
WHEN: 6:00 a.m. on July 29, 2019 until mid-September 2019, pending weather.

WHERE: Bridge over White Clay Creek on Harmony Road between Route 2/Kirkwood Highway and Greenridge Road, Newark.

WHAT: DelDOT’s contractor, A-Del Construction will be replacing the existing concrete deck with a new concrete deck and barriers, minor repairs of the substructure, and roadway approach work.

Detour Routes: South of Harmony Road: Route 2/Capitol Trail to Red Mill Road to Ruthar Drive to Route 273/Ogletown Road to Route 4/Ogletown-Stanton Road.

North of Harmony Road: Route 4/Ogletown-Stanton Road to Route 273/Ogletown Road to Ruthar Drive to Red Mill Road to Route 2/Capitol Trail.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists.

This project was initially to begin in June. This is the second time it has been postponed.
