Man Shot And Killed In Rural Neighborhood Wednesday Night

A  34-year-old man was shot in a small rural neighborhood south of Milford Wednesday night, according to the Delaware State Police (DSP).

DSP Homicide investigators are currently piecing together the events that lead up to the man’s death, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the preliminary investigation has revealed that the incident occurred on July 10, 2019, at approximately 8:26 p.m. Troopers and rescue crews were dispatched to a residence in the 15000 block of Winner Circle in Lincoln. Once on scene crews reported that the man had been shot in the upper body.

The man described by Troopers as a victim was transported to the Sussex Bayhealth Hospital in Milford and later transferred to the Christiana Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Jaffe said the victim’s name is being withheld at this time pending the notification of next of kin.

Jaffe did not indicate if any arrest have been made in relation to this incident, however, she did say that there is no threat or concern to the public’s safety at this time.

The investigation is in its early stages. Troopers are asking anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Sgt. Yeich at 302-741-2703.
