A Wilmington man who stabbed his girlfriend to death in 2018 received a 30-year prison sentence. Kevin Dyton, 53, pleaded guilty in March to Murder Second Degree and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony.
In January 2018, Dyton repeatedly stabbed 58-year-old Annette Henry in the apartment they shared in the 1600 block of West Fourth Street. A Superior Court judge sentenced Dyton to 30 years in prison, followed by 6 months of either home confinement or work release, then 2 years of probation.

The Wilmington Police Department and the Delaware Department of Justice announced a guilty plea reached in a 2018 homicide case.
A 53-year-old Wilmington man pleaded guilty to the 2018 stabbing death of his girlfriend. Officials said in January 2018, Kevin Dyton repeatedly stabbed and slit the throat of 58-year-old Annette Henry in the apartment the two shared on the 1600 block of West Fourth Street. Dyton fled from the apartment after the stabbing. He was later was arrested after police located him by following a trail of blood to a vacant home on the 200 block of North Dupont Street.
Dyton pleaded guilty to Murder Second Degree and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony. He will be sentenced by a Superior Court judge in July, said officials.
Captain Malcolm Stoddard, commander of the WPD Criminal Investigations Division, applauded investigators and patrol officers for their response to the incident and their initial investigation, which led to the prompt identification and apprehension of the suspect.
“Our investigation, in this case, led to the rapid arrest of a dangerous individual,” said Captain Stoddard. “I commend our patrol officers and investigators for relying on their astute observations and using evidence at the scene to lead them to the killer.”
