Police: Victim Struck In The Head, Robbed At Gunpoint In Newark

On June 28th, an adult male victim reported to Newark Police that he had been robbed two days earlier in the late evening hours, according to  Lt Andrew Rubin.

Rubin said the victim reported that on June 26th, at about 2200 hours, he was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk of Woodlawn Avenue in the area of Lumbrook Park.

The victim was struck in the head by an unknown object, which caused him to fall from the bicycle. As the victim attempted to stand up, he was pushed back to the ground by an unknown male suspect. The suspect then pressed a gun to his head as he told him not to move, according to Rubin.  At the same time, a second male suspect placed a knife against the victim’s back. The suspects then removed property from the victim and fled the area.

The victim only described the suspects as two males and one was armed with a black handgun and the other with a knife. The victim received a minor injury for which he was treated and released from a local medical facility.
