Police: Water Leak Leads Drug And Counterfeiting Charges In Middletown

On July 2, 2019, at approximately 1030am, the Middletown Delaware Police Department was dispatched to the unit block of W. Main Street in reference to a water leak, according to Middletown Police Spokeswoman Dawn Misino.

Misino said police arrived on location and observed water leaking into a business from the apartment above. While investigating the origin of the water leak, officers discovered items indicative of drug sales in an apartment located above the business, according to Misino.

A search warrant was executed which resulted in the discovery of 408 MDMA pills packaged for sale, 56 doses of LSD, opioid-based prescription pain medication, evidence of a marijuana grow operation along with 2.6 ounces of marijuana, and a number of anabolic steroids, said Misino.

Detectives also recovered tools and equipment used in the production of counterfeit United States Currency, added Misino .

John Bucy DOB 5/15/90 was taken into custody in reference to this investigation and charged with :

Manufactures, delivers, or possesses with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 4 quantity
Manufactures, delivers, or possesses with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 2 quantity
Manufactures, delivers, or possesses with intent to manufacture, deliver a controlled substance Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 2 quantity
Possession of Forgery Devices, Apparatus Capable to Adapting for Forgery
Possess /Consume Marijuana Other Than Personal Use Quantity over 18
2 counts of Possess/Consume a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance except Human Growth Hormone without a prescription
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia not related to personal use quantity marijuana or person under 18

Bucy was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution in lieu of posting a $158,700 secured bond.
