The Delaware Blue Coats, NBA G League Affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, will hold three open tryouts in preparation for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
“Open tryouts are a real opportunity to make a dream come true,” said Blue Coats General Manager Matt Lilly. “These events are an important part of our talent evaluation each year and we’re looking to uncover that next success story.”
Tryout events are scheduled for the following dates:

All participants will be evaluated by Philadelphia 76ers and Delaware Blue Coats basketball operations staff, including Blue Coats General Manager Matt Lilly and Head Coach Connor Johnson. Registrants will receive an official Blue Coats tryout jersey, two tickets to a future Blue Coats game and an invitation to an exclusive NBA G League event during the 2019-20 season.
Since 2013, a total of 23 players from the team’s open tryouts have been invited to NBA G League Training Camp and 15 players have made the regular season roster.
Those interested in this opportunity must submit the official registration and release forms, as well as a $175 non-refundable entry fee to the Delaware Blue Coats. Registration and payment can be completed HERE.
Online registration for each of the three events closes promptly at noon on the Friday immediately before the tryout. Late or day-of registration will cost $200 for all entries. All walk-up payments must be made by cash, money order or cashier’s check and made payable to “Delaware Blue Coats.”
Prior to last season, the 76ers unveiled the Blue Coats as the new brand identity for its NBA G League affiliate, while also opening the all-new 76ers Fieldhouse in Wilmington. All 24 regular season home games during the upcoming 2019-20 season are scheduled to be played at the Fieldhouse.
