Dover Police Searching For Armed Home Invasion Suspect

The Dover Police Department is seeking a suspect in connection with an afternoon home invasion in the Unit Block of Rockford Crossing, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 2:21 PM, Kampta Sharma, 24, entered a female victim’s (acquaintance) home by kicking open the front door. Once inside, Sharma struck the female victim in the head with a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Hoffman.

The suspect was identified shortly after the incident and Sharma is currently wanted by the Dover Police Department on the following charges:

-Home Invasion
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Criminal Mischief
-Theft
-Assault 2nd Degree

A photo of Sharma was not provided by police.
