HAZMAT Incident Causes Lab Evacuation At UD’s Drake Hall

Newark – Rescue crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and, Ladder along with officials from the University of Delaware have responded to a lab at the University of Delaware’s Drake Hall located at 126 Academy Street.

Initial reports are that a patient working in a lab has suffered an injury due to a chemical exposure.

Crews are reporting that the lab has been evacuated and the patient is being decontaminated.

The patient is expected to be transported to the hospital after decontamination.

Command has placed the incident under control.
