Police: Man Wanted For Not Showing Up To Court To Face Drug Charges

On June 2, 2019, at approximately 8:45 pm the Milton Police Department, K9 Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation at Union Street and Bay Avenue. During the traffic stop, the officer observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and detected the odor of marijuana, according to authorities.

Officials said through further investigation, the driver was found to have a suspended license. The officer returned to the vehicle and advised both occupants to step out. Both subjects were detained and a K9 scan of the vehicle uncovered additional narcotics paraphernalia hidden inside the vehicle, police said.

A search of the occupants resulted in the discovery of 91 packages of heroin along with a civil amount of marijuana on the passenger, 25-year-old Raheem Hazzard.

Hazzard did not appear for his Superior Court Trial on June, 7, 2019 and has not been seen since.

He is currently a fugitive and has an active capias out of Sussex County Superior Court for; Drug Dealing with an Aggravated Factor / Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, (commonly used with heroin) and civil possession of marijuana.
