Rollover Crash Sends One To Trauma Center By Air Sunday Morning

Harrington – Just after 1:15 Sunday morning rescue crews from the Harrington Fire Company along with Kent County Medics were dispatched to Farmington Road, near the state fairgrounds, for reports of a rollover crash with multiple injuries.

First arriving crews reported that at least one patient was trapped and requested assistance from the Farmington Fire Company.

While en route, crews were alerted by Kent Center that police on scene were advising that one patient was outside of the vehicle. It was unknown if the person was ejected from the vehicle.

As crews worked to extricate the patient from the vehicle Command requested Trooper 2’s ETA. Eleven minutes out responded Trooper 2’s pilot. Command immediately dispatched members of the crew to set up a landing zone for the helicopter just south end of the fairgrounds.

At this early stage, we know that Trooper 2 transported one patient to the Trauma Center at Cristiana Hospital, however, it is unclear how many patients were transported in total.

Trooper 4 and additional medics responding to the scene were recalled prior to their arrival.

Farmington Road was closed while crews worked to clear and investigate the crash.
