Troopers: Body Found On The Side Of The Road, Death Investigation Underway

The Delaware State Police are currently conducting a death investigation after a body was discovered deceased along the side of a roadway, Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the investigation began on August 28, 2019 at approximately 12:14 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to Fleatown Road in Lincoln for a victim that was found deceased on the side of the roadway.

The victim will be turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death. The victim’s identity is unknown at this time.

The investigation is in it’s early stages with further information being released as it becomes available.

Fleatown Road between E. Holly Drive and Clendaniel Pond Road remain closed momentarily at this time.
