The Dover Police Department arrested one juvenile suspect in a home invasion case and are seeking a second suspect, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.
Hoffman said the incident occurred on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 when a 49-year-old woman was standing in front of her home in the Unit Block of Stevenson Drive and was approached by two suspects wearing masks and displaying firearms. The victim was forced into her residence and into a closet before she was able to escape out of a window.
Detectives later learned that a 16-year-old male was one of the suspects involved in the incident and obtained warrants for his arrest. On September 26th, 2019, at 5:10 PM, officers observed the 16-year-old in the area of White Oak Road. He led officers on a brief foot chase before being apprehended. He had a handgun in his pants when taken into custody.
At approximately 6:48 PM, officers executed a search warrant at his residence on Stevenson Drive. During the search, officers located ammunition, a handgun magazine, and drug paraphernalia.
He was charged with the following offenses and committed on a $53,700 secured bond:
-Home Invasion
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Wearing a Disguise During Commission of Felony
-Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Terroristic Threatening
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (3x)
-Possession of Firearm by Juvenile
-Carry Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Illegal Gang Participation
-Resisting Arrest
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
