Happening Now: Serious Crash In Elsmere, Five Ambulances Requested

Elsmere – Rescue crews from the Elsmere, Cranston Heights, Mill Creek, and Minquas Fire Companies along with New Castle County Paramedics have responded to Kirkwood Highway at Central Avenue for reports of a motor vehicle accident with multiple injuries.

Upon their arrival, crews are reporting that at least one patient is seriously injured.

Five ambulances have been dispatched to the crash.

Update:  Reports from the scene indicate that this a head-on collision.

Update: One patient, a back seat passenger, is currently en route to the trauma center at Christiana Hospital.

Update: Second patient also en route to the trauma center. Reports of full airbag deployment.

Update: Reports from the scene indicate that additional patients have been transported to the hospital, however, that has not been confirmed.

Update: 8:16 PM – Command has placed the incident under control. DSP to investigate.
