Newark-Area 7-11 Robbed At Gunpoint On Sunday

Newark, Delaware – Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a convenience store that occurred early Sunday morning.

Officials said the preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at approximately 3:30 a.m. when troopers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven Store located at 699 East Chestnut Hill Road, Newark for a report of a robbery. The investigation revealed the suspect entered the store and confronted the clerk. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk, according to Troopers. The clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as a black male approximately 5’07”-5’10” tall with dark clothing and his face covered armed with a handgun.
