Police charge man with Newark burglary that took place in August.
Officials said on August 18, 2019, between 11:45 A.M. and 3:50 P.M., a burglary occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Newark. The resident reported that the residence had been entered by forcing open a door. The suspect then removed property from the residence and fled.
Newark Police Detectives were able to trace the stolen property to a residence in the 4000 block of Ogletown Stanton Road. On September 19, 2019, Detectives executed a search warrant at the residence and located the stolen property, police said. Trevor Livesay, 44, who lives at the Ogletown Stanton Road address, was taken into custody after he was found hiding in the basement of the residence.
Livesay was transported to Newark Police Headquarters where he was charged with Burglary Second Degree, Theft Under $1500 and Criminal Mischief. Livesay appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 by video and was ordered held in default of $11,500 cash bail. Livesay was turned over to the custody of the Howard R Young Correctional Facility in Wilmington.
