The Delaware State Police are currently investigating an incident at a New Castle area motel that occurred early Wednesday morning, in which the victim was assaulted and robbed, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Juanita Huey-Smith.
Huey-Smith said the incident occurred at approximately 3:17 a.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at the Dutch Inn located at 111 S. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A 60-year-old male occupant at the motel answered a knock at his door at which time he was confronted by the female and male suspects. The female suspect forced her way into the room while the male suspect proceeded to physically assault the victim, eventually wrestling him to the ground, according to Huey-Smith. The suspects then removed the victim’s wallet from his pocket, which contained an undisclosed amount of money, and fled in an unknown direction. The victim sustained minor facial injuries but refused treatment.
The female suspect is described as a fair skin white female, 5’3” tall, with straight blonde hair.
The male suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 6’1” tall, with a slender build.
