Happening Now: Serious Crash Traps Two, Extrication Underway, Helo En Route

Laurel – Just after 9:15 this morning rescue crews from the Georgetown Fire Company, Sussex County Medics and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 2 were dispatched to Hardscrabble Road (Route 20) and East Trap Pond Road for reports of a motor vehicle crash with entrapment.

First arriving crews are reporting that two vehicles are involved and that two patients are trapped, one in each vehicle.

Command has asked for fire police to close Route 20.

Update: Trooper 2 has arrived and landed near the crash scene.

Update: Command has requested a third ambulance to the scene. An ambulance for the Laural Fire Department has been dispatched.

Update: 9:44 Comand has reported that the first patient has been extricated.

Update: One patient is en route to the Trauma Center at Nanticoke Hospital.

Update: Information on the second patient is not available at this time.
