Man Forced Into Vehicle At Gunpoint, Taken To His Home Then Shot, Suspect Photos Released

Seaford- The Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate a shooting incident and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the three suspects who are wanted in connection, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on September 23, 2019, at approximately 12:46 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 23000 block of German Road in Seaford for a shooting. Upon arrival, Troopers located a 40-year-old male victim walking in the vicinity. The victim indicated he had been shot and sustained a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Further investigation into this incident revealed that the victim was walking on German Road in the area of his residence when three unknown black males got out of a vehicle, approached him and requested money, according to Jaffe. When the victim advised that he did not have money, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and pointed it towards the victim, according to Jaffe. The suspects forced the victim back to his residence where they proceeded to physically assault him and restrain him from leaving, said Jaffe. The suspects then ransacked the residence looking for money and fired a round into the ceiling, according to Jaffe. The victim fled through the back yard. He heard shots being fired and was subsequently struck by one round.

The three suspects were described as black males, between 25-29 years of age. One suspect was described as short and wearing a face mask. The second suspect was described as tall with a skinny build and shoulder-length dreadlock style hair. The third suspect was described as larger and heavier set, with a full beard wearing a hat. All three suspects were in possession of a handgun.

The investigation is active and ongoing and anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Troop 4, Major Crimes Unit, Detective Mills at 302-856-5850.
