Medics Staging As Bomb Squad Investigates Device, Residents Asked To Shelter In Place

The Delaware Fire Marshal’s Office along with the NCCPD EOD Team is currently investigating a suspicious device in the  Hillside Heights neighborhood near Christiana Hospital, officials said Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said the investigation is underway in the unit block of Lavender Lane and are asking residents of Rustic Drive, Rosewood Drive, Coral Reef Drive, and Greentree Road to shelter in place.

Newark – New Castle County Police have cordoned off a Newark-area neighborhood with yellow police tape.

Officers have responded to the area of Rosewood Drive and Rustic Drive in the Hillside Heights neighborhood near Christiana Hospital.

Residents in the neighborhood have taken to social media to discuss the incident. One resident said that the police told them that they were investigating possible explosives in a home.

Police have yet to release details surrounding the incident.
