Police: Georgetown Man Charged With Strangulation After Domestic-Related Assault

Georgetown, DE- Georgetown Police have arrested a Georgetown man in connection with a domestic-related assault, according to Public Information Officer, Detective Joey Melvin.

Melvin said the incident occurred during the early morning hours of Thursday, October 31, 2019, on Bridgeville Road in Georgetown. Georgetown Police were contacted by a 21-year-old victim who stated she was involved in a physical domestic with her ex-boyfriend, 21-year-old Franky Sandoval-Chilel, at her residence.

The victim stated she was choked by Sandoval-Chilel and both she, and her unborn child, were threatened, according to Melvin. The victim sustained injuries which were non-life threatening.

Franky Sandoval-Chilel 21, of Georgetown, was charged with Strangulation, Terroristic Threatening and Assault 2nd degree. Sandoval-Chilel was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $10,000 secured bond.
