Store Clerk Robbed, Assaulted In Dover Tuesday

Dover- The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a liquor store on Tuesday evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on November 26, 2019, at approximately 7:00 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Route 8 Liquor store located at 4128 Forrest Avenue in Dover, in reference to a robbery in which the store clerk was assaulted.

Upon arrival, it was learned that a 59-year-old store clerk was working when he was approached by an unknown suspect who immediately physically assaulted him. The suspect then displayed a knife and demanded money before the employee turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Jaffe. The suspect took the money and a telephone from the counter prior to fleeing the store. The employee declined medical treatment.

The suspect was described as a white male, wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, dark pants, a face mask, sunglasses and armed with a knife.
