Three Charged With Stealing Almost $74,000 In Apple Products From Target

The Dover Police Department charged three men from Brooklyn, New York in a shoplifting case where $73,893 in Apple products were stolen from a Dover Target store, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 9:35 on Monday evening, November 25, 2019, the three men broke into a secured case and took a variety of Apple electronics and fled.

The suspects attempted a similar attempt at the Christiana Target store after the Dover incident but were unsuccessful. Loss prevention employees were able to obtain a description of the vehicle at the time and pass it on to regional Target stores.

Shortly after the Christiana attempt, troopers with the Delaware State Police observed the suspects and suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Brandywine Target store. The troopers searched the suspect vehicle and located all of the stolen Apple products from the Dover incident, according to Hoffman.

All three suspects were committed to SCI on $3,500 secured bonds on the following offenses:
-Organized Retail Crime
-Possession of Shoplifters Tools
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree

The suspects, all from Brooklyn, NY, were identified as:
Jonathan Vinas (28)
Gilberto Cortez (43)
Joey Lattimore (34)
