Authorities: Man Killed When Dump Truck Collapses On Him Thursday

Millsboro- The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal industrial accident that occurred yesterday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on December 5, 2019, at approximately 7:45 a.m.  Troopers responded to a  business located in the 24000 block of Hollyville Road in Millsboro, in reference to an accident where they learned that an employee was working on a dump truck on site. The employee was found by the owner of the business pinned underneath the dump truck.

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Jose Zamora-Rivera of Milton, DE, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Millsboro – Just before 7:30 this morning, Thursday, December 5, 2019, Sussex County rescue crews responded to the 24000 block of Hollyville Road for reports of an injured person.

While en route to the scene, crews upgraded the call after learning that a man was working on a commercial vehicle when it collapsed on him.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that the patient is badly injured. Crews have been unable to communicate with the patient. Command has ordered crews to respond to the scene with extrication tools.

The Sussex County Tactical Rescue Team along and Trooper 2 were recalled and not utilized.
