Family Displaced After Home Catches Fire Monday

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal has determined that this afternoon’s fire near Frankford, Delaware was accidental, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.

Chionchio said firefighters arrived in the 32000 block of Tranquility Lane in Hidden Meadows shortly after 1:00 pm and found an active fire inside a house trailer. Crews contained the fire that fire marshals say was sparked by an electrical malfunction inside a utility cabinet.

There were no reported injuries reported, however, three adults and one child were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross is providing emergency assistance.

Chionchio said the fire caused about $15,000 in damage.
