Troopers Investigating Cell Phone Store Armed Robbery

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Metro PCS store earlier today, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on December 15, 2019, at approximately 3:34 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Metro PCS located at 107 N. Maryland Avenue in Wilmington for a report of a robbery.

Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with two employees who advised that a subject entered the store displaying a knife. The suspect ordered one employee to lay on the ground while demanding cash from the other employee. The employee turned over an undisclosed amount of cash prior to the suspect fleeing the scene. The employees were not injured as a result of this incident.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male armed with a knife.
