Did You Lose Power In Middletown Today? Here’s Why

Middletown – Earlier today at around 12:30, Chris James, out taking photos of birds witnessed an electric transformer explode.

The transformer, located at Bunker Hill Road and Lake Seymour Drive, near the Bob Evans Restaurant was damaged by fire and smoke.

“When I heard an explosion. I saw flames shoot out of the top and then lots of smoke” said James.

Crews were on scene inspecting the transformer shortly after the explosion, however, James said that power is still out in the area.

DelDOT cameras show traffic lights out in the area.

Area businesses are reportedly closing due to the outage. That has not been confirmed.
