Driver Slices Through Utility Pole In Wilmington Manor On Friday

Wilmington Manor –  Yesterday afternoon at around 2:50, rescue crews from the Wilmington Manor Fire Company (WMFC)  were dispatched to the Super 8 Motel for reports a motor vehicle accident.

While en route to the scene crews learned that the vehicle had actually crashed into a utility pole in front of  WMFC Station 32.

Arriving crews reported that the utility pole was snapped in half and that the transformer was on the ground.

Radio traffic indicates that one person was transported to the hospital, however, it’s unclear what injuries the driver sustained in the accident.

A check of Delmarva Power’s outage map showed that the accident knocked power out to several customers in the area.
