Happening Now: Crews Responding To House Fire In Newark

Newark – Firefighters from Aetna, Hose, Hook, and Ladder along with crews from surrounding companies have responded to the unit block of Gilbert Court for a residential structure fire.

While en route crews learned that a washer and dryer are on fire and flames are showing from the rear of the home.

Upon arrival, crews have reported smoke showing from the home. Crews have made their way into the home and are trying to make access to the basement.

Aetna Chief Andrew Bowerson has Command.

Update: Crews have knocked the basement fire down, however, the fire has extended further into the home.

Primary searches for victims are negative.
