Milford Police Arrest Man Wanted In New York City, Woman

Last week on Friday, January 17, 2020, the Milford Police Department Patrol Division was on routine patrol in the area of Causey Avenue and S Church Street when they observed a Red Hyundai Elantra just before noon.

A registration check on the vehicle showed that the vehicle was flagged for a warrant, according to Detective Timothy Maloney. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at which time they made contact with the operator, Angela Boone, 46 of Lincoln, Delaware, and the passenger, Orlando Pettyjohn, 57 of Milford.

It was learned that Boone had two active warrants and three court capiases for her arrest and Pettyjohn had a court capias for his arrest. Maloney said a search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia belonging to Boone as well. Boone and Pettyjohn were transported back to the Milford Police Department for processing.

Once back at the station, Boone was charged with Theft Under $1500: Where A Victim Is 62 Years Of Age Or Older, Unauthorized Use Of A Vehicle Without The Consent Of The Owner, and Unlawful Use Of Payment Card Under $1500 reference to a Milford Police theft investigation. It was also verified that she had a pending warrant out of Milton on theft charges and court capiases out of Justice of the Peace Court 6, Kent County Court of Common Pleas, and Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.

Boone had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 2 in reference to all the warrants and capiases. She was committed to the Department of Correction on $561.00 cash bail only. She received 3650.00 in unsecured bail reference to some of the new charges and capiases. She was ordered to appear in various courts at a later date.

It was learned that Pettyjohn had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of New York City, NY. Officers prepared an out of state fugitive warrant for Pettyjohn. He was then arraigned through Kent County Family Court for his active capias and was released on $27,000 unsecured bail with a future court date in the Kent County Family Court. Pettyjohn also had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 2, where he was committed to the Department of Correction pending extradition to New York.
