A Laurel, Delaware man is facing rape and sexual abuse of a child charges.
On December 24, 2019, the Laurel Police Department arrested 36-year-old Rammans Savage in relation to the sexual assault of a child, according to police.
Officials said a Division of Family Services (DFS) Hotline Tip was submitted to the Laurel Police Department stating that Savage was sexually assaulting a juvenile female at his residence in Laurel. After further investigating the allegations Savage was arrested, according to police.
Savage was charged with Rape in the 2nd Degree, Sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust 1st degree and Endangering the welfare of a child all of which are felonies. He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $42,000 secure bond.
Savage’s preliminary hearing on the charges is set this morning, Thursday, January 2, 2020.
