Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges and resisting arrest.
On January 2, 2019, at approximately 7:15 p.m. members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the area of 8th and Washington Streets when they observed 21-year-old Armani Congo-Brown acting suspiciously, according to police.
When officers attempted to make contact with Congo-Brown, he fled on foot. He was taken into custody a short time later.
Officers recovered a loaded .40 caliber stolen handgun, according to police.
Congo-Brown was charged with the following offenses in addition to having numerous capiases:
Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $30,500 cash-only bail.
