Two More Shot In Dover On Wednesday, Six Since Monday

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a 19-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man on Wednesday morning, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said the female victim advised that she was standing on the sidewalk in front of a home in the 400 Block of Collins Drive when a dark-colored vehicle drove past.

The victim advised she heard gunshots and was shot once in the thigh. The male victim was standing in the doorway of the residence and suffered a graze wound to his leg but refused all medical treatment.

The residence and a vehicle parked in the driveway were also struck by gunfire. The female victim was treated for her non-life threatening injury at Kent General Hospital.

On Tuesday a 20-year-old male was shot in the 100 Block of Haman Drive. In regards to that shooting Hoffman said at approximately 1:32 AM, the victim stated that he was taking out trash from a friend’s residence when he saw a green four-door vehicle drive by. The victim heard 4-5 gunshots and was struck in his thigh. The victim ran back to his friend’s apartment and called 911. He was treated at Kent General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

That victim stated that there were four black males inside the vehicle, all wearing black hooded sweatshirts, and red face masks.

The Haman Drive shooting occurred just hours after a shooting that left a 30-year-old man with wounds to his hand and thigh late Monday night.

Hoffman said at approximately 10:52 PM, the male victim was in front of his home in the 400 Block of Barrister Place when he was approached by two black male suspects.

The suspects both displayed firearms and went through his pants pockets. As the victim pulled away, one suspect fired two rounds, striking him once in the hand and once in the thigh.

The victim ran to a neighbors home, who then transported him to Kent General Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects were described as black males, wearing all black clothing, with black ski masks covering their faces.

Two other people were also shot earlier on Monday Monday morning.

Hoffman said that incident occurred at approximately 2:47 Monday morning when the victims, a 19-year-old man, and a 30-year-old man,  were approached by 5 to 6 unknown male suspects while they were on a porch of a residence in the 100 Block of S. New Street.

The subjects fired multiple times at the victims before fleeing on foot towards S. Queen Street. The victims were each struck in the legs. Both were transported to Kent General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
