Several Storage Units Damaged By Early Morning Fire In Bear, Investigation Underway

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating this morning fire in Bear that damaged several rental storage units, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.

Chionchio the Christiana Fire Company responded to the 200 block of East Scotland Drive for a building fire shortly before 1:00 am. The facility, located off the Pulaski Highway, is comprised of several individually rented storage units. Firefighters arrived on the scene with flames shooting from a storage unit and spreading to other units.

State fire investigators are currently searching for the fire’s origin and cause. Twelve units were heavily damaged by the fire. Several other storage units were damaged by smoke.

Fire damaged was estimated at $250,000. There were no reported injuries.
