Cell Phone Store Robbed By Knife-Wielding Suspect

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating the knifepoint robbery of a Wilmington area cellular phone store that occurred Tuesday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 11:36 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Metro PCS store, located at 107 N. Maryland Avenue. A male suspect approached an employee at the sales counter while brandishing a knife and demanded money. The employee complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to suspect who then fled on foot. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, average build, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and light-colored pants.
