Seven Injured In Overnight House Fire In Bear, Two In Critical

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is currently investigating last night’s fire in Bear, Delaware that injured seven people, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.

Chionchio said the blaze reported shortly before midnight occurred in the unit block of Barrister Court in the Buckley development. The Christiana Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames engulfing a two-story house and several injured occupants.

Emergency Medical teams along with the New Castle County paramedics treated the injured parties and transported all victims to the Christiana Hospital. Two occupants are in critical condition. Five other victims are in good condition.

State fire investigators are currently on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. Heavy fire damage is estimated at $300,000. This fire remains under investigation.
