Troopers Investigating Overnight Knifepoint Robbery At Walgreens

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating the knifepoint robbery of a Wilmington area Walgreens pharmacy that occurred Saturday night, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2020, at the Walgreens-Chestnut Run, located at 1710 Faulkland Road. A male suspect confronted an employee behind the sales counter while brandishing a knife and demanded money from the register, according to Austin. The employee complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled on foot. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned male, 18-30 years of age, 5’10”-6’1” tall with a thin build, wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt.

Wilmington – Several Troopers have responded to the Walgreens at Route 141 and Faulkland Road for a reported robbery.

Trooper 4 is also overhead searching for a suspect.
