Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal, ATF Investigating Laurel Restaurant Fire

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a structure fire that damaged the Laurel Dutch Inn restaurant in Laurel, Delaware on April 6, 2020, according to Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal John  Galaska.

Galaska said the fire, reported shortly after 10:00 P.M. , occurred to the structure in the 1000 block of South Central Avenue. The Laurel Fire Department arrived on the scene and found smoke and flames coming from the structure. Mutual aid fire companies assisted at the scene.

State fire investigators were called to the scene and are performing an investigation to determine the fire’s origin and cause. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting in this investigation.

Fire damage is estimated at $500,000. There were no reported injuries.
