Troopers Investigating Knifepoint Robbery In New Castle

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a New Castle area gas station Monday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:09 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2020, at Exxon, located at 261 South DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A male suspect who was brandishing a knife entered the business and confronted a store employee at the sales counter. The suspect demanded the employee give him all the money in the drawer. When the employee complied, the suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the register before fleeing the store on foot. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing all dark clothing and in possession of a knife.
