Police: Road Rage Ends With One Shot In The City Of Newark

At 12:03 this morning, May 31, 2020, Newark Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Capitol Trail for a report of shots fired, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin.

Rubin said responding officers located a male at a residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The male was transported to an area hospital by Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder suffering from serious injuries. Officers took three people into custody at the scene and were able to locate firearm involved, added Rubin.

The Newark Police Department Criminal Investigations Division was notified and has assumed the investigation.

The preliminary investigation reveals that this incident started as a road rage incident, according to Rubin.
