Wilmington Police are requesting the assistance of the public to identify a suspect who struck a juvenile while illegally operating a dirt bike.

On May 25 at approximately 6 p.m., a male suspect illegally operating a dirt bike in the 600 block of South Buttonwood Street struck and injured a 5-year-old juvenile pedestrian, according to police. The operator left the scene, and the juvenile was transported to the hospital for treatment in stable condition.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is encouraged to contact Master Corporal Tavis Miller with the WPD Special Operations Division/Traffic Unit at (302) 571-4416 or [email protected].
